Conman fugitive Peter Foster, 59, was arrested last week near Gisborne, Victoria, and will be extradited to Queensland to face charges over the alleged defrauding of over $2 million in cryptocurrency.
IFW Global’s Ken Gamble has been working for the pilot who was allegedly the victim of the cryptocurrency scam. Independently of the Australian Federal Police, IFW Global conducted surveillance in July that confirmed Foster’s sister and dogs were staying at a property south of Brisbane, although Foster himself never showed at the property.
In September, new information emerged that suggested Foster was living somewhere in Victoria, and was recruiting staff for a new scam under the name Icon Sport Exchange. Foster had created UK bank accounts in the name of a deceased person to facilitate bank transactions for the new scam, which was in the marketing phase.
The AFP raided a property in Gisborne on Tuesday the 7th December. Foster allegedly ran from police before being apprehended and taken into custody.
Before the fugitive strike force swooped, IFW Global had been conducting private surveillance at the property in an attempt to confirm whether Foster was on the premises so that police could be notified.
